Costas Vittis

Costas Vittis is a Visual artist.

Born in Greece, he lives and works in Athens. He received his formal training at the National Technical University of Athens and he is a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece.

Since his first solo exhibition in 1988, his work has been presented in many group exhibitions and 6 solo shows and he has received international awards and distinctions. He has published two albums and four Artbooks, while his works are in public and private collections.

In a large solo exhibition-installation in the Technopolis (Gazi) 1996, he presented his work "Metamorphoses", an elegy on the aesthetic idea of femininity with enigmatic female figures and allegorical representations on gigantic photo prints enfenced in concrete reinforced steel grids with synchronized sound and light interventions via computer.

In the period 2007-2016, the artist makes an attempt to achieve the decomposition of the form through the light, creating photographic images where the compact mass of matter is set aside to give way to CLEAN LIGHT.

In 2016, the collectible diary of the National Printing House of Greece, contains exclusive his work "Informal Description".

In the recent years, the artist is mainly engaged with the deconstruction of the personality and the penetration into the world of the ego, creating psychographic images.
