Dimitris Vlassis was born in Piraeus in 1946. He graduated from the National Technical University of Athens in 1969 and since then has been working freelance. He was involved in Technical Education as a professor of architectural design. He is actively involved in promoting and deliberating on architecture and art in general, through talks, lectures, articles, etc, and through his books Notes on the Structure of the Contemporary House and Dimitris Vlassis: Architecture, Design, Sculpture, Theatre and his study on "Direction of Architecture". He is a prominent sculptor presenting his works in solo and group exhibitions in Greece, Italy, France, Great Britain, and Poland. At the same time he is also involved in the theatre as a director, a stage designer, a writer, and in literature with his book Fairytales by the seaside.
