Ioannis Savvidis was born in Moers/Germany. He studied Fine Arts (MFA degree) at the Universität der Künste in Berlin. His work has been shown in many places worldwide both, in solo and group exhibitions such as the 2nd Pedestrian Exhibition in Istanbul, Kunstwerke, Berlin, Gallery Vamiali's, Athens and the Zina Athanassiadou Gallery in Thessaloniki, the Kunsthalle Athena, Athens among others. He has participated in various film festivals and biennials like the Alternative Film/Video Festival, Belgrade, Athens Biennial, Berlin Biennale, Biennial of Moving Images (BIM), Buenos Aires.Institutions like the Museum of Photography, Thessaloniki, the Riso Museum, Catania. the Museum do Estado do Pará, Belem, the State Museum of Contemporary Art, Thessaloniki, the Cultural Centre of Athens have presented his work.
